Pipeline pump is a type of single suction single stage or multi-stage centrifugal pump, belonging to a vertical structure. Because its inlet and outlet are on the same straight line and have the same diameter, it resembles a section of pipeline and can be installed at any position in the pipeline, so it is named pipeline pump (also known as booster pump). Compared with other pumps, it has superior processing efficiency.
Generally speaking, before dealing with a water pump malfunction, it is necessary to first identify the cause of the high current and then take targeted measures. In addition, when repairing the pump, it is necessary to do a good job of power-off to avoid unnecessary safety hazards.
Reasons and solutions for excessive current in pipeline pumps
1. Pipeline blockage: During long-term use, a lot of dirt will accumulate day by day, which will lead to a decrease in flow rate and an increase in the operating resistance of the water pump, leading to excessive current.
Solution: For pipelines blocked by foreign objects, timely treatment or replacement should be carried out to avoid the accumulation of dirt causing increased resistance of the water pump, which in turn affects the pump's current.
2. Pump volume or flow calculation error: The actual flow rate of the pump does not match the design flow rate, or the pressure calculation of the pump is incorrect, which may lead to poor matching of the hydraulic performance of the pump with the motor and high current.
Solution: By changing the water delivery pressure of the pump or adjusting the frequency of the pump, adjust the working parameters of the pump to ensure that the flow and pressure of the pump match, and avoid motor overload.
3. Motor overload: Due to excessive mechanical load or poor quality of the motor itself, the operating load of the motor is too heavy, which may also cause excessive motor current.
Solution: For motors with poor quality, they need to be replaced in a timely manner. For the problem of motor overload, it is necessary to carefully check the speed and direction of the motor, and check the insulation of the motor and cable lines.
4. Transport medium: When transporting medium with high viscosity or containing solid particles, it is easy to cause excessive pump current.
Solution: Before transporting the medium, it is necessary to check whether the nature and transportation method of the medium being transported are suitable. If not, timely measures need to be taken to solve the problem.
