NPSH

It is recommended to calculate the inlet pressure "H" in the following situations:
- High liquid temperature
- Flow rate significantly exceeding the rated flow rate
- Pumping from a low location
- Pumping from a long pipeline
Poor inlet conditions: To avoid cavitation, a minimum pressure must be maintained on the pump's inlet side.
The maximum suction head "H" in meters of head can be calculated using the following formula:
H = Pb x 10.2 - NPSH - Hf - Hv - HS
Pb = atmospheric pressure, in bar (atmospheric pressure is considered 1 bar). In closed systems, Pb represents the system pressure (in bar).
NPSH = Net Positive Suction Head, in meters (can be read from the pump's NPSH performance curve in the catalog).
Hf = Friction loss in the suction piping (in meters).
Hv = Vapor pressure (in meters), can be read from a vapor pressure gauge.
Hs = Safety margin, with a minimum of 0.5 meters.
If the calculated H value is positive, the pump can suction a head of "H" meters on the suction side. If it is negative, the inlet must have a head of at least positive "H" meters to prevent cavitation in the pump.
installation
- When installing piping, ensure that the pump casing is not subjected to external forces from the piping.
- The Stainless Centrifugal Pump must not be installed with the motor below it.
- The pump should be installed horizontally on a flat, solid foundation, with the pump's suction inlet facing horizontally and the discharge outlet facing vertically.
- To facilitate inspection and maintenance and allow for air flow, allow at least 0.3m of clearance behind the motor.
- The pump's inlet pipe diameter must not be smaller than the specified size.
- The pump should be installed in a well-ventilated and frost-proof area.
- If the pump is installed outdoors, it must be properly covered to prevent water from entering the electrical components.
- The electrical wiring must protect the pump from damage caused by phase loss, leakage, voltage fluctuations, and overload.
- To ensure optimal operation and minimize noise and vibration, vibration damping measures may be necessary in some applications.
